HIGH SCHOOL OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Outreach for Girls Conference

High school Outreach Program

A conference for girls in grade 9 to 12 to show them what an engineering profession has to offer. The girls will get the chance to participate in hands-on workshops, talk with female engineers and network.

LEAP Academy Program

Highschool Outreach Program

A paid program for students in grades 9 to 12 that offer a hands-on and engaging Science and Engineering experience. Scholarships and bursaries are available.

Eng Overnight: Gr 11 Girls

High school Outreach Program

An overnight camp for girls in grade 11 who are interested in learning engineering at McMaster. The camp involves staying overnight on campus, experiencing hands-on workshops and networking with other like-minded girls.

BASEF Science Fair

High school Outreach Program

The Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair is a free competition for all grade seven through twelve students from Hamilton, Halton Region, Haldimand County, Norfolk County, Brant County and Six Nations.

Go ENG Girl

Highschool Outreach Program

A day-long camp for girls in grade 7 to 10 who are interested in learning about engineering at McMaster. It includes the chance to listen to guest speakers, meet women who are currently in engineering and participate in hand-on activities.

Go Code Girl

High school Outreach Program

A day-long camp for girls in grade 7 to 10 who are interested in learning about coding. It allows girls to learn to code, and to inspire them to pursue a career in technology.

SCIENCE CLUBS

McMaster STEM Fellowship

University Student Club: STEM

STEM Fellowship is a student-run non-profit organization that promotes STEM. The McMaster branch hosts an annual research competition called Indicium which allows upper-year students to mentor and support undergraduate students through their research. The McMaster STEM Fellowship also offers scholarly writing workshops, data science workshops and career and research oriented events towards STEM

McMaster Undergraduate Research in Science Association (MURSA)

University Student Club: Science

MURSA is dedicated to promoting research relating to science. Throughout the years, they hold discussions and workshops to involve students. They also educate students about volunteer positions and jobs relating to the sciences. Most notably, they hose the Annual Research and Healthcare Conference where undergraduate students can share their research.

Geography and Earth Science Society (GESS)

University Student Club: Science

This club facilitates the integration of science and social science students within the School of Geography and Earth Sciences through academic, networking and social events organized by the club throughout the academic term.

Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences Society (BBSS)e Society (GESS)

University Student Club: Science

This club supports undergraduate students enrolled in Biochemistry by providing them with networking opportunities and mentors.

McMaster Life Science Society

University Student Club: Science

This club is dedicated to students enrolled in the Life Science program. They provide opportunities such as their Peer Mentorship program, thesis and graduate school information nights and connecting students to resources such as volunteer opportunities.

McMaster's Electrical & Computer Engineering Society - ECES

University Student Club: Engineering

ECES represents the undergraduate students enrolled in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program. They promote and host academic, professional and social events relating to engineering.

The McMaster Women in Engineering Society (The McMaster WIE Society)

University Student Club: Engineering

This club supports engineering students by providing mentorship, networking opportunities and social events. They also have a mentorship program where first year female engineering students are paired up with an upper year student to learn about McMaster Engineering. 

Software Engineering Society (SES)

University Student Club: Engineering

This club is specifically run for students in Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Computer Science. The host networking events and software-related projects to allow students to become more experienced in this network.

Bioengineering at McMaster Society (BEAMS)

University Student Club: Engineering

This club is for students enrolled in the Bioengineering program. They host formal and informal events to allow students to connect with others and to explore opportunities in this field.

Mathstronauts

University Student Club: Math

Mathstronauts is a non-profit organization to encourage and educate STEM among youth. They host after school programs, workshops, social events, and an annual one-day hackathon for middle school students. (Run by McMaster students for youth in Hamilton)

McMaster Math And Stats Society

University Student Club: Math

This club represents students enrolled in the  Mathematics & Statistics program. They host events and experiences and foster the relationship between the students and the faculty staff,
