Nipissing University is a primarily undergraduate public liberal arts university located in North Bay, Ontario. Students will find themselves in a high quality academic environment that is student-focused and based on personal teaching practices, innovative approaches to learning, and a growing research culture. Within STEM, this school has faculties in Arts & Science and Applied and Professional Studies with programs in nursing, biology, computer science, and mathematics.
Math Circles are informal enrichment meetings for students (Grade 3-12) interested in math and problem solving. In groups (according to grade), students prepare prepare for the Math Kangaroo contest with help from student volunteers from the university who are in the math program. It is held Saturdays, 10 times from September to April and costs $50. The fee covers lunch and materials.
These seminars, provided by professors, are aimed towards high-school students and a general audience. They take place from 1:15 pm to 2:30pm on Fridays for free. Seminars cover many concepts such as Quantum dots and Infinite series.
This club provides an opportunity for all students to meet, talk, and make friends. They can get advice and help with homework from their peers. They work to augment the mathematics community at the university.
Alpha Gamma Phi is student organization that inspires women to reach their full potential, accepting each other, take on leadership roles, and fostering the development of core values within the context of friendship. It is run by women and promotes friendship and principles of truth, honour and duty.
