STEAM Camps (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math)

Highschool Outreach Program

These fun and educational week-long camps give students the chance to explore subjects like nature, indigenous history, and makerspaces through a combination of all the elements of STEAM. Camps are tailored to different age groups and subjects. 9-14-year-old girls can participate in the Now That’s Cool camp, where they will develop and learn to market their designs.

Eng Squad Summer Camp

Highschool Outreach Program

Eng Squad encourages youth to ask questions, think critically, and come up with creative solutions using the engineering design process. Camps run for one week at a time, with separate weeks for Grades 4-6 students and Grades 7-8 students. Two Girls Only Camps are also offered!

Engineering Classroom Workshops

UOIT works with teachers to facilitate workshops, class visits, and on-campus field trips.

Let’s Talk Science Classroom and Community Workshops

Highschool Outreach Program

The Let’s Talk Science Outreach program visits classrooms and schools to lead students through hands-on STEM-related programming activities. Visits should be booked by teachers and/or school administrators.

Coding Camps

Highschool Outreach Program

Multiple coding camps are available for different ages and skill levels, including a Coding for Girls camp for ages 9-14. These week-long summer camps introduce students to programming concepts, techniques, and environments, and help students code projects.

LEGO Robotics Camps

Highschool Outreach Program

LEGO Robotics Camps give students the chance to build and program LEGO Robots appropriate to their level, from WeDo programming for younger students to advanced sensor and output applications for teen campers. A special camp, Girls Connect, is offered for girls ages 9-14.

Go ENG Girl

Highschool Outreach Program

Go ENG Girl gives Grade 7-10 girls the chance to complete hands-on engineering activities, learn about the field of engineering, and meet women engineering students from UOIT. This is a free one-day event!

Go CODE Girl

Highschool Outreach Program

Go CODE Girl introduces Grade 7-11 girls to programming and shows them the exciting sorts of work that they can pursue in computing and software engineering. This is a free one-day event!

UOIT Robotics Competition

Highschool Outreach Program

Over 40 teams from local high and middle schools come together for this annual competition between autonomous Lego Mindstorms robots.
